When finding pipe location, or cable location, or any underground asset, it’s vital that you get pipe locating professionals who know the standards, and apply the standards. Unlike many operators, Underground IQ only employ certified pipe locators. Below is a quick overview of the colour standards and quality levels.

Including CCTV, security, traffic signals, white markings.
Water
Drinking water.
Gas
Gas, oil, petrol, steam and anything flammable.
STORMWATER & DRAINAGE
Drainage and sewage.
RETICULATED WATER
Including irrigation & slurry lines.
Unknown
Used for unknown services/assets, as well as temporary markings.
FIRE SERVICES
Pipes, electrical, anything to do with fire services.
*Colours used may differ from standards and will be documented in the report. Colours may differ from standards due to surface colour, textures, or other markings. For example, green paint is often not seen clearly on grass, and we may substitute another colour, as indicated on the report.
